Do they still have the eyes that will match the skin tone of the older Addy? I sent mine in for a new head to use the wig to put on my 1st edition and the color is quite different and the eyes are Painted to match the skin so maybe if you REALLY want to keep that head make sure you put that under no circumstances should they replace the whole head because they might find that the eyes they have don't match so replace the whole head. Just a thought. Good luck and congrats on such a sweet find. I've read here the there isn't much difference between the Mattel and PM Addy's, but I think it's huge! I love the coloring of my Addy, it's quite a bit rosier.

Shanna,
I plan to write a letter saying to replace the eyes only. I am also going to request the eyes to be mail back. Someone has expressed intrest in her silver eyes.

I am so glad you posted this question/pic, because when I had Addy's hair in pigtails (you can look in the album if you didn't see it already -- Addy is in the last several pics.Addy in pigtails
My Addy's hair looked JUST like yours. She also is a first edition (with the numbers on her head). But look at those pigtails, she has a LOT of hair!
We don't have much trouble with breakage, and I can still play with her hair a lot. I hadn't even thought of replacing it, but I did wonder if it was "normal."
If her hair is back in one pigtail, or braided, you don't see any bald spots at all. She had a lot of hair.

Also--ponydreamer, I'm glad you posted that about Addy. I had thought about posting a similar question. I have read 1 - 5 in my boxed set that came with Addy, and I thought the same thing about the first book. Dd knows about slavery to an extent, but at 7, I'm not sure her eyes need to be opened that much yet. I want her to read all the books and we still have several sets to go, so I am just planning on holding off on Addy.
And I haven't read Kirsten, so I'll preview that one first, too.
